Zachary Hart Joins Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed Series as a Regular

Zachary Hart, known for his roles in Slow Horses and Peaky Blinders, has been cast as a series regular in Netflix’s upcoming live-action Assassin’s Creed series. He joins previously announced leads Toby Wallace and Lola Petticrew in the highly anticipated show based on Ubisoft’s best-selling video game franchise.

Assassin’s Creed is described as a high-octane thriller set against a secret war between two powerful factions. One group seeks to shape humanity’s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to protect free will. The series will follow characters across major historical moments as they battle to influence the course of human history.

Details about Hart’s role are being kept tightly under wraps. Production on the series is expected to begin in 2026 in Italy, which will serve as one of the key settings. However, the exact historical time period of the story has not yet been revealed.

The series comes from showrunners Roberto Patino and David Wiener and is part of Netflix’s deal with Ubisoft signed in 2020. They also serve as executive producers alongside Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones for Ubisoft Film & Television, and Matt O’Toole.

With over 230 million units sold worldwide, Assassin’s Creed remains one of the most successful video game franchises in history.

Hart is a British actor and musician with a strong background in both theatre and television. He recently starred as Reg in the West End production of the Tony-winning play Stereophonic and appeared in The Seagull at London’s Barbican Theatre. On television, his credits include Slow Horses, Masters of the Air, The Witcher: Blood Origin, Bodies, Peaky Blinders, and Doc Martin.

He is currently filming Season 2 of Netflix’s spy thriller Black Doves. Hart will next be seen in the BBC drama California Avenue, alongside Bill Nighy and Helena Bonham-Carter, and in Channel 4’s Big Mood, opposite Nicola Coughlan.
