British Actor William Rush Dies at 31

British actor William Rush, best known for his role in the popular TV drama Waterloo Road, has died at the age of 31. His mother, actress Debbie Rush, confirmed his death on Instagram on Wednesday, Dec. 17, sharing a photo of William smiling.

In her post, Debbie wrote, “As a family, our hearts are completely broken, and there are no words that can truly capture the depth of our loss. Even in our darkest moment, William gave the most precious gift of all. Through being an organ donor, he has given hope and life to other families, thinking of others right to the very end. His kindness and love will forever be part of his legacy.” She also requested privacy for the family during this difficult time, adding, “William will always be loved, always missed, and forever in our hearts.”

William Rush was best known for playing Josh Stevenson in Waterloo Road, appearing in 168 episodes from 2009 to 2013. He also appeared in British TV series including Grange Hill, Shameless, Casualty, and Vera.

Many stars took to Debbie’s Instagram to share their condolences. Waterloo Road co-star Chelsee Healey commented, “Oh Debbie, my heart breaks for you all. I'm so so sorry! Rest in peace Will.” Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley added, “Oh love. I’m heartbroken for you all. I am so deeply sorry. I’m sending so much love and strength.”
