Queen Camilla Carries On With Royal Duty Hours After Prince Andrew’s Arrest

Just hours after the shocking arrest of her brother-in-law, Queen Camilla carried out a public engagement in London — underscoring the royal family’s message that duty must continue, even in the face of crisis.

👑 Queen Camilla Continues Royal Duties

On Feb. 19, just hours after police arrested Prince Andrew, Queen Camilla, 78, attended a lunchtime concert at Sinfonia Smith Square Hall in London.

The Queen met with musicians and watched a live performance in her role as the venue’s royal patron — a position she has held since 2003. Observers noted that Camilla appeared composed as she greeted performers and guests, maintaining a steady presence despite the unfolding developments involving her brother-in-law.

Her appearance came on Andrew’s 66th birthday.

🚔 Prince Andrew Arrested at Sandringham

Earlier that morning, police officers arrived at a residence on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, where Andrew had been staying.

According to the BBC, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Authorities are investigating allegations that he shared confidential information with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein while serving as a U.K. trade envoy.

Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing related to Epstein.

In a statement, Thames Valley Police confirmed they had “arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office” and were conducting searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. The man remains in police custody.

👑 King Charles III Speaks Out

Shortly before Queen Camilla’s public appearance, King Charles released a statement addressing his brother’s arrest.

“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” the monarch said.

He added that the matter must now follow “the full, fair and proper process” and emphasized that authorities have the royal family’s “full and wholehearted support and co-operation.”

“Let me state clearly: the law must take its course,” Charles continued, declining further comment while the investigation proceeds.

The message was signed “Charles R,” using the traditional royal signature in which “R” stands for rex, Latin for king.

Duty Amid Uncertainty

The royal family has faced repeated scrutiny in recent years over Andrew’s past ties to Epstein. Wednesday’s arrest marks a new chapter in a long-running controversy.

Still, Queen Camilla’s decision to carry on with her scheduled engagement appeared to signal the monarchy’s intent to maintain stability and continuity during a turbulent moment.

As investigations continue, Buckingham Palace has indicated that the family will remain focused on their public responsibilities while allowing legal authorities to conduct their work independently.
