Nick Jonas Returns to Acting With High-Voltage Thriller Bodyman

Nick Jonas is stepping back into the spotlight as an actor, and this time he’s bringing serious action with him.

Fresh off the release of his latest album and with a summer tour lined up, Jonas has signed on to star in a new action-thriller titled “Bodyman.” The film is set to launch at the European Film Market in Berlin, where it will be introduced to international buyers.

The movie will be directed by Gary Fleder, known for gritty, high-energy projects like Homefront and Reacher. The script comes from Byron Balasco, who previously worked with both Fleder and Jonas on the TV drama Kingdom. Filming is scheduled to begin in June 2026.

So what’s Bodyman about? The story centers on a tense and violent power struggle that unfolds during a family Christmas gathering. An eccentric billionaire shocks everyone by handing control of his private military company not to his privileged children, but to his loyal bodyguard, played by Jonas. What follows is a fight for control — and survival — inside a remote family estate, where not everyone is guaranteed to make it out alive.

Fleder says the project is a special one for him. Reuniting with Balasco and Jonas, he describes Bodyman as a “smart, lean, high-voltage” thriller that pushes Jonas to show his full range — from physical action to emotional depth.

Behind the scenes, Jonas is also heavily involved as a producer through Powered by Jonas, alongside Spencer Berman, Mark Fasano of Nickel City Pictures, and Jeffrey Greenstein of A Higher Standard. Greenstein says the team was drawn to the film because it offers more than just action — it aims to deliver a grounded, character-driven story that audiences can really sink into.

For Jonas, Bodyman is a passion project. He says he’s been developing the film for some time and is excited to finally see it come together, especially with a creative team he already trusts.
