Hawke stunned in a white wedding dress paired with an oversized, feathery winter coat — a chic nod to the February weather in New York City. Hutson kept it classic in a black tuxedo.
Thurman wore a light blue gown with matching shoes, while Ethan Hawke opted for an all-black ensemble.
The former couple, who were married from 1998 to 2005, also share a son, Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke, who attended the wedding. Ethan is also father to Clementine Jean Hawke and Indiana Hawke with his wife, Ryan Shawhughes Hawke. Thurman shares another daughter, Luna, with former fiancé Arpad Busson.
Their Romance Timeline
Hutson first publicly confirmed his engagement to Hawke during an interview with SoCal Sound Session last year. When host Julie Slater referred to Hawke as his “fiancée” while discussing the song “Carousel Horses” from his album Paradise Pop. 10, he simply replied, “Yeah.”
Two months later, Hawke was photographed in Manhattan wearing a diamond ring on her left hand, sparking engagement buzz.
The couple made their red carpet debut in April 2024 at the opening night of John Proctor Is the Villain at New York City’s Booth Theater, where Hawke supported her co-star Sadie Sink.
Hawke — who also starred in Inside Out 2 — and Hutson were later spotted together at the Prada FW25 show during Milan Fashion Week.
Music Brought Them Together
Hawke and Hutson first met while recording music together. The New York-based musician opened for Phoebe Bridgers on tour between 2022 and 2023 and collaborated with Hawke on her 2024 album, Chaos Angel. Hutson also featured on the record.
In February 2024, Hutson shared a Valentine’s Day post celebrating the release of Chaos Angel, writing that he loved both the song and the record.
By July 2024, Hawke openly praised Hutson on Instagram, calling him a “poet musical genius” and sharing candid photos of the two together.
During an appearance on the Zach Sang Show that same month, Hawke spoke warmly about their relationship.
“I cannot recommend highly enough dating your friends,” she said. “It’s the best. They know you… not just a piece of paper for them to project their image of perfect girlfriend onto.”
Now, the longtime collaborators and close friends have officially begun their next chapter as husband and wife.
