Mark Ruffalo Urges Kathy Hochul to ‘Tax the Rich,’ Slams Donald Trump Policies

Mark Ruffalo has once again spoken out against President Donald Trump, calling for higher taxes on billionaires and corporations as part of a new push in New York.

The Marvel star joined the “Tax the Rich” campaign and shared a message on social media on Monday, February 23, urging New York Governor Kathy Hochul to take action.

Ruffalo Calls for Action on Affordability

In a video posted online, Ruffalo said rising living costs are hurting working families across New York.

“In New York, rent is crushing people. Childcare now costs over $20,000 a year on average,” Ruffalo said. He argued that Trump’s policies are benefiting billionaires while everyday people face cuts to essential services.

Ruffalo’s post included the caption: “@govkathyhochul must Tax The Rich for a New York we can afford. They can handle it, trust me.”

Focus on Childcare, Housing and Transit

The actor said that 60% of New Yorkers support higher taxes on billionaires and corporations to fund public needs such as childcare, housing and public transit.

“Working people shouldn’t be the ones always stuck with the bill,” Ruffalo said in the video.

He also referenced support for an affordability agenda backed by New York voters, saying more than one million residents voted for policies aimed at lowering costs.

Rally Planned in Albany

Ruffalo ended his message by encouraging people to attend a rally in Albany on Wednesday, February 25.

“Thousands of folks are going to Albany to send Kathy Hochul one clear message: Tax the Rich for New York that we can all afford,” he said.

This is not the first time Ruffalo has criticized Trump. The actor has frequently spoken out on political and economic issues, especially those related to working families and income inequality.

As debate continues over taxes and public spending in New York, Ruffalo’s comments add more celebrity support to the growing “Tax the Rich” movement.
