According to court documents filed in Ohio on February 10, Steven, 32, is suing the woman on 16 counts of defamation and is seeking at least $400,000 in damages.
How They Met
In his filing, Steven said he met the woman on the dating app Bumble in 2024. He claimed they exchanged flirtatious messages before continuing their conversations on Instagram.
The pair later arranged to meet at her home at around 10:30 p.m. on May 14, 2025.
Steven alleged that after talking, they began kissing and engaging in consensual sexual activity. He claimed the woman agreed to have parts of the encounter recorded on his cellphone. The woman has denied that claim.
The lawsuit states that they discussed recording before any sexual activity began and agreed that Steven would film. According to the filing, the recording lasted 1 minute and 47 seconds before being turned off.
Steven said the woman later asked whether he wanted to have sex or perform oral sex on her, but he declined and left her apartment around midnight. He claimed they had no further contact after that night.
Social Media Allegations
On January 27, shortly after Steven was announced as a cast member on Love Is Blind, the woman posted on social media alleging that he had sexually assaulted her months earlier.
In one post, she wrote that seeing him on the show made her feel “sick” and described him as “dangerous.” She also shared what she said was a screenshot from a private post dated May 16, 2025, two days after their encounter. In that post, she claimed she realized she had been sexually assaulted and said he recorded her without consent.
In videos shared on TikTok, the woman alleged that the encounter was aggressive and that she repeatedly told Steven she did not want to continue. She claimed she physically resisted and that he pushed her head down during oral sex. She also alleged he began recording despite her objections.
The lawsuit further claims the woman repeated rumors that Steven had tried to drug other women, which he denies.
Cease-and-Desist and Job Suspension
According to the lawsuit, Steven’s attorneys sent the woman a cease-and-desist letter demanding that she remove the posts. The filing states she did not comply.
Court documents include a letter from Steven’s employer in the finance industry stating he was placed on paid suspension on January 30.
Steven argues that the woman’s public statements were false and defamatory and caused significant harm to his career and reputation.
On-Screen Controversy
Season 10 of Love Is Blind premiered on February 11. Steven did not end the show engaged and was not among the couples who traveled to Mexico or Malibu.
During the season, he also faced criticism after an argument with co-star Emma Betsinger, who accused him of “gaslighting” her during their conversations in the pods.
The legal case is ongoing. The woman has not publicly responded to the lawsuit.
