In the first batch of episodes, it looked like Vic proposed to Christine almost immediately. By the end of episode one, they were already engaged — making it seem like one of the fastest proposals in the show’s history. But according to creator Chris Coelen, that was simply the result of editing.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Coelen confirmed that all seven featured engagements — plus one unseen eighth engagement — actually happened on the same day near the end of the pod experience.
All Engagements Happened on Day Nine
“It’s 10 days in the pods,” Coelen explained. “They all happen on day nine. Day 10, we do the reveals.”
That means no one proposed on day one. In fact, engagements are encouraged to take place on day nine, just before couples see each other face-to-face for the first time on day 10.
This also explains why viewers often notice the women dressed more formally during proposal scenes. Contestants know day nine is when proposals typically happen, so they come prepared.
How the Pod Schedule Really Works
Season 10 featured 16 men and 16 women. On day one, each participant goes on a date with every member of the opposite gender. After that, contestants narrow down their connections.
“They tell us by writing down on paper who they most want to date and who they least want to date,” Coelen said. Matches are then scheduled based on mutual interest.
The scheduling process is complex. Groups rotate in and out of the pods for multiple short dates, similar to speed dating. From that point on, the dating process is largely controlled by the contestants’ choices.
Are There Rules About Proposing?
According to Coelen, there’s no strict rule about when someone can propose. Contestants are free to pop the question at any time — even on day one.
However, producers strongly encourage them to wait.
“We really want them to succeed,” Coelen explained. Waiting until day nine gives participants time to fully explore their connections and make a more informed decision.
Proposing earlier could limit their experience and potentially hurt their chances of building a strong relationship.
What’s Next for Season 10?
While all of the engagements happened on the same day, it remains to be seen which couples will actually make it down the aisle.
Love Is Blind season 10 continues with episodes 7–9 releasing Feb. 18, followed by episodes 10–11 on Feb. 25. The season finale drops March 4 on Netflix.
As the drama moves beyond the pods and into real-world relationships, fans will soon find out which couples’ love truly is blind — and which ones won’t last.
