Kelly Clarkson Announces End of ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ After Seven Seasons

Kelly Clarkson is saying goodbye to daytime television.

The singer and TV host has announced that The Kelly Clarkson Show will end after its current seventh season. Clarkson shared the news Monday in a heartfelt statement posted to Instagram and the show’s official account, making it clear the decision was her own.

“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people,” Kelly Clarkson wrote, thanking the show’s band, crew, guests, fans, and longtime network partner NBC. She called the past seven seasons “amazing” and said she will always be grateful for the experience.

Clarkson explained that stepping away from the daily grind of a talk show was not easy, but it felt necessary. Ending the show will allow her to focus more on her children, daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remy, 9, during what she described as the next chapter of their lives.

The announcement comes just months after the death of Clarkson’s former husband and talent manager, Brandon Blackstock, who passed away in August at age 48.

Still, Clarkson reassured fans that this is not the end of her career. “This isn’t goodbye,” she wrote. “I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time.” She added that fans should keep an eye out, because “you never know where I might show up next.”

Production on season 7 will continue as planned, with Clarkson hosting through the fall. The show will also feature a few special guest hosts, which will be announced later. The news was shared with the show’s staff and crew earlier today.

The decision surprised some viewers, especially after recent rumors about the show ending were publicly denied just last week. At the time, a representative dismissed the talk as “Rumor!” and said NBC would make any official announcements directly.

Since debuting in 2019, The Kelly Clarkson Show has been a major success in daytime TV. According to NBC, the series consistently ranked among the top daytime programs and built a massive digital following, topping 2 billion views each year across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for three years in a row.

The show’s success was also recognized by the industry. Over seven seasons, it won 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four straight wins for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series and four consecutive awards for Clarkson as Outstanding Talk Show Host.

As the curtain prepares to fall, Clarkson ended her message with gratitude. She thanked fans for welcoming the show into their homes and for “hanging with us for seven incredible years.”
