Heidi Klum’s ‘Nude’ Grammys Dress Was Made From a Mold of Her Own Body

Heidi Klum knows how to make an entrance — and she did just that at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The supermodel and TV star wore a viral “nude” dress that looked like it was painted directly onto her skin. And as it turns out, the look was inspired by a very special muse: herself.

At the event, Heidi Klum revealed that the bold outfit was created by German designer Marina Hoermanseder, who used a custom mold of Klum’s body to make the dress.

“My dress is made by a German designer and her name is Marina Hoermanseder,” Klum told Reuters. “She basically does a mold of the body. It’s leather. And then she sprays it and color matches it as close to my skin as possible so it looks, like, nude.”

The leather garment featured buckles running down the sides and fit Klum perfectly — though comfort was another story. She joked that sitting down was nearly impossible.

“I’ll be the one clapping and standing the entire time,” she laughed. “Standing ovation all the way.”

Fans later got a behind-the-scenes look at how the dress was made in a joint post shared by Klum and Hoermanseder on Instagram. The process began with a 3D scan of Klum’s body, which was used to create the base shape. Heated leather was then carefully molded, held in place with strings, and left to dry until it fit perfectly.

After that, the dress was sanded, sprayed, and lacquered to match Klum’s skin tone, giving it a glossy, skin-like finish. “Wow wow wow just wow,” the post read.

Despite the dress stealing the spotlight, Klum later revealed she didn’t wear it all night. She shared a quick Instagram Story showing herself happily eating a burger — this time in a black dress — proving comfort eventually won.

Klum wasn’t the only star turning heads with a nearly nude look at the Grammy Awards 2026. Singer Chappell Roan also made waves in a sheer maroon dress by Mugler, styled with faux nipple rings.

Once again, the Grammys red carpet proved that fashion risks — and a little humor — can make for unforgettable moments.
