Kaley Cuoco says sleeping apart from fiancé Tom Pelphrey saved their relationship

Kaley Cuoco says she and fiancé Tom Pelphrey no longer share a bed—and it’s made their relationship stronger.

Speaking on Armchair Expert with host Dax Shepard, Cuoco explained that she sleeps with several of her dogs and their 2-year-old daughter, Matilda. Pelphrey eventually decided he couldn’t sleep that way anymore and moved into the guest room.

At first, Cuoco worried about how it might look to others. But after discussing it in couples’ therapy, the pair realized they were barely seeing each other at night anyway. “I don’t care,” she said, adding that the change turned out to be “the best decision we ever made.”

The couple also keeps very different schedules. Pelphrey likes to write and read late into the night, while Cuoco goes to bed and wakes up early. Sleeping separately, she said, respects both routines.

Cuoco, best known for The Big Bang Theory and The Flight Attendant, was previously married twice. She and Pelphrey, who starred in Ozark, met in 2022 and got engaged in August 2024.

The couple welcomed daughter Matilda after bonding early in their relationship—even before she was born—over the baby name.
