“The Lowdown” Renewed for Season 2 at FX and Hulu

FX and Hulu have officially renewed The Lowdown for a second season.

Production on the Western dramedy, which stars Ethan Hawke, is set to begin this spring in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Created by Reservation Dogs creator Sterlin Harjo, The Lowdown centers on Lee Raybon, a citizen journalist who calls himself a “truthstorian.” His life is turned upside down after he publishes an exposé on the powerful Washberg family. When Dale Washberg is later found dead in what is labeled a suicide, Lee begins to suspect something far more troubling. Following a trail of clues, he digs deeper into a local conspiracy that puts him directly in harm’s way.

Season 1 featured a strong ensemble cast, including Keith David, with notable guest appearances from Kyle MacLachlan, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Tim Blake Nelson, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Michael “Killer Mike” Render, Kaniehtiio Horn, Tracy Letts, Peter Dinklage, and Graham Greene.

Harjo serves as an executive producer alongside Garrett Basch, Ethan Hawke, Ryan Hawke, and Duffy Boudreau. The series is produced by FX Productions, with all episodes streaming on Hulu.

No premiere date for Season 2 has been announced yet, but the renewal signals strong confidence from FX and Hulu in the show’s future.
