Just days after her ex, country star Zach Bryan, confirmed he had married Samantha Leonard, the 26-year-old podcaster shared a pointed TikTok that many believe was a quiet response to the news.
In the short clip, posted Friday, Jan. 2, LaPaglia lip-synced to lyrics from Taylor Swift’s 2022 song “Mastermind”:
“Checkmate, I couldn’t lose.”
Dressed casually in a white top and tan New York Yankees cap, LaPaglia offered no caption or explanation — but fans quickly filled in the blanks.
The comments section lit up with support. “Said a lot without saying nothing, my queen,” one follower wrote. Another added, “You dodged a bullet,” while a third joked, “Bri thriving is def on my 2026 bingo card!”
Bryan, 29, shared the first official photos from his wedding on Instagram on Dec. 31, showing himself holding Leonard, 28, who wore a strapless white gown with a feather-trimmed hem. He captioned the post “Tougher than the rest,” a nod to Bruce Springsteen’s 1987 love song from Tunnel of Love.
Wedding speculation had been swirling for months. Leonard sparked engagement rumors after appearing with a diamond ring in one of Bryan’s Instagram Stories, and the couple were first linked in July 2025 during a trip to Spain’s Running of the Bulls.
LaPaglia and Bryan split in late 2024, and the breakup quickly turned contentious. About a month later, LaPaglia accused the singer of emotional abuse and claimed he offered her $12 million and a house to stay silent about their relationship — allegations she discussed publicly on the BFFs Podcast.
“You made the women before me believe they had no other choice than to take money from you,” she said at the time. “You get to go sing your little f---ing songs on stage like you’re a good dude.”
Bryan has not directly addressed the claims, though he appeared to reference LaPaglia indirectly by sharing a video of himself burning a Barstool Sports flag — the media company behind her podcast — on his Instagram Stories.
In April 2025, LaPaglia reflected further on the relationship during an appearance on Casual Chaos, saying she had slowly lost her sense of self.
“I was catching myself worried about what I was saying or how people would perceive me,” she said. “I couldn’t recognize myself anymore.”
For now, LaPaglia hasn’t commented directly on Bryan’s wedding. But if her TikTok was meant as a response, fans seem convinced she’s already made her point — without saying a word.
