The actor, stuntman, and co-creator of the long-running stunt-comedy franchise announced the news on Instagram, revealing that the new movie will hit cinemas on June 26, 2026.
“Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang,” Knoxville wrote. “We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back! We will see you in theatres June 26th. More to come but wanted you to hear it from us first!”
The upcoming film follows 2022’s Jackass Forever, which was widely promoted as a final outing for the core cast that helped define the franchise’s chaotic, slapstick style. That movie was a commercial success and introduced a new generation of performers alongside longtime favorites.
Because of that “last hurrah” messaging, today’s announcement has raised immediate questions. It is not yet clear which original cast members will return for Jackass 5, or whether the film will focus more heavily on newer faces. No additional details about the lineup, stunts, or tone have been revealed so far.
While this will be officially billed as the fifth Jackass movie, the franchise’s numbering has always been a little flexible. Between main entries, the series released several “.5” films made up of unused footage and behind-the-scenes material, which some fans jokingly count as full installments.
For now, fans can mark their calendars. More information is expected in the coming months, but one thing is certain: Jackass isn’t done causing mayhem just yet.
