Jayne Trcka, Scary Movie Actress and Former Bodybuilder, Dies at 62

Jayne Trcka, the bodybuilder and actress best known for playing Miss Mann in the comedy hit Scary Movie, has died at the age of 62.

Trcka was found unresponsive inside her home in San Diego earlier this month after a friend became concerned when repeated attempts to reach her went unanswered. According to authorities, the friend tried calling several times before deciding to check on her in person. Trcka was discovered in the kitchen, and emergency services were contacted immediately. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

Her son later confirmed that Trcka passed away on December 12. The San Diego County Medical Examiner has since confirmed her death, noting that the official cause remains pending while the investigation continues. Family members told authorities that Trcka was not known to have any underlying medical conditions or illnesses at the time of her death. Officials are expected to release additional information once the medical examiner’s final report is completed.

Before entering the entertainment industry, Trcka built a successful career as a competitive bodybuilder during the 1980s, a time when women’s bodybuilding was still striving for wider recognition. Known for her powerful physique and intense discipline, she became a standout presence in the sport and earned respect within the fitness community.

Her success on the competition stage led to features in several major fitness publications, including Flex, MuscleMag International, and Women’s Physique World. These appearances helped establish her as a recognizable figure among fitness fans and opened the door to opportunities beyond bodybuilding.

Trcka made her acting debut in 2000 with Scary Movie, where she portrayed Miss Mann in a brief but memorable role that has remained part of the film’s pop culture legacy. The exposure led to additional television appearances, including guest roles on The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway?.

Outside of bodybuilding and acting, Trcka also worked as a real estate agent in California, balancing multiple careers over the years. Friends and fans have remembered her as driven, independent, and unafraid to reinvent herself.
