Hacks Stars Paul W. Downs and Megan Stalter Hilariously Mock Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner at Critics Choice Awards

Hacks stars Paul W. Downs and Megan Stalter stole the spotlight at the 31st Annual Critics Choice Awards by poking fun at one of Hollywood’s most talked-about couples.

The duo hit the red carpet at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on January 4, 2026, wearing matching bright orange PVC outfits—an unmistakable parody of Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet. Keeping straight faces, Downs and Stalter posed for photos in looks nearly identical to the ones Jenner and Chalamet wore to the Los Angeles premiere of Chalamet’s latest film last month.

Jenner, 28, and Chalamet, 29, had originally turned heads on December 8, stepping out together in coordinated orange Chrome Hearts outfits that quickly went viral and appeared to shut down rumors of a breakup. Downs, 43, and Stalter, 35, recreated the moment beat for beat—right down to Chalamet’s Chrome Hearts ping-pong paddle crossbody bag, a playful nod to his role as table tennis champion Marty Mauser in the film.

Fans immediately embraced the joke. Social media lit up with praise, with viewers calling the parody “iconic,” “fearless,” and “absolutely hysterical.” Several even joked that the look deserved to become a subplot in a future season of Hacks.

The moment came during a big night for the HBO comedy, which is nominated for multiple awards, including Best Comedy Series. Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder are both in the running for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, while Downs is nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

Downs and Stalter play fan-favorite duo Jimmy LuSaque Jr. and Kayla Schaeffer on Hacks, a series centered on the complicated mentorship and friendship between two comedians from different generations.

The ceremony, hosted once again by Chelsea Handler, has already sparked conversation this year, including surprise snubs like Cynthia Erivo missing a Best Actress nomination for Wicked: For Good, despite the film’s massive box office success.

Still, it was Downs and Stalter’s perfectly timed fashion parody that delivered one of the night’s most memorable—and funniest—moments.
