Former Teen Actor Matt Prokop Arrested in Texas on Multiple Charges

Former teen actor Matt Prokop has been arrested in Texas and is being held without bail after facing several serious charges, including alleged possession of child pornography.

According to TMZ, Prokop was taken into custody on Christmas Eve in Victoria County, Texas. Local law enforcement confirmed that he remains in the county jail and is also charged with resisting arrest.

Authorities say the arrest is connected to an alleged violation of bond conditions from an earlier case. A local outlet reported that those conditions were tied to a May 2024 arrest in which Prokop was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest. Officials have not released specific details about how he allegedly violated the bond.

Prokop is best known for his role in High School Musical 3, where he appeared alongside the film’s young ensemble cast. Outside of his acting career, he has previously been in the public eye for legal troubles.

He also previously dated Sarah Hyland, best known for her role on Modern Family. In 2014, Hyland obtained a restraining order against Prokop after alleging verbal and physical abuse. The court ordered him to stay away from her for three years.
