Demi Moore Reveals Bruce Willis’ Sweet ‘Neil Diamond Day’ Tradition From Their Marriage

Demi Moore is opening up about a tender and joyful memory from her marriage to Bruce Willis — and it’s all about music.

While hosting a Q&A at a special screening of Song Sung Blue at Soho House in Los Angeles, Moore, 63, shared a personal anecdote that had the audience smiling. The event also featured the film’s star Kate Hudson, and the music-filled movie sparked Moore’s memory.

The film, directed by Craig Brewer, tells the real-life story of a married couple who performed in a Neil Diamond tribute band. Hearing Diamond’s classic songs during the screening reminded Moore of a beloved ritual Willis kept during their years together.

“This is a little personal,” Moore told Hudson, “but Bruce always had a ‘Neil Diamond Day’ every week.”

According to Moore, once a week Willis would blast Neil Diamond’s music nonstop throughout the house.

“I’d ask, ‘What’s going on?’” she recalled with a laugh. “And he’d say, ‘It’s Neil Diamond Day.’”

She added that the tradition wasn’t a short phase — Willis kept it going for years.

“He was a huge Neil fan,” Moore said. “And so am I.”

Moore and Willis were married from 1987 to 2000 and share three daughters — Rumer Willis, Scout Willis, and Tallulah Willis. Despite their divorce, they have remained close and committed to being a united family, especially as Willis faces frontotemporal dementia.

Willis later married Emma Heming Willis in 2009, while Moore was married to Ashton Kutcher from 2005 to 2013. In recent years, Moore has spoken openly about enjoying life on her own terms.

Last year, Moore reflected on how she and Willis chose not to let the end of their marriage fracture their family.

“Regardless of what the outside relationship has been, we’ve maintained being a family in various forms,” she shared. “Making our children the priority never wavered.”

She also marked Willis’ 70th birthday with a heartfelt Instagram tribute, posting photos of their blended family laughing, hugging, and spending time together.

“Happy birthday, BW!” she wrote. “We love you.”

The story of “Neil Diamond Day” is a small but touching reminder that even after love changes shape, shared memories — and good music — can still bring people together. 🎶
