According to court records, the former 16 and Pregnant star had fallen more than $23,000 behind on child support payments for her two children, Weston Jr. and River, whom she shares with ex Weston Gosa.
Because of the large amount owed, a judge ordered that Purvis be taken into custody unless she paid a $4,000 lump sum “purge” payment. Court documents now show that Purvis paid the full amount, prompting the judge to cancel the arrest order before she was ever jailed.
While the payment kept her out of custody for now, Purvis’ financial obligations are far from over. The court has ordered her to continue paying $353 per month in current child support, along with an additional $20 per month toward the outstanding balance. She is also responsible for standard processing fees.
The child support case comes amid serious legal trouble for Purvis on other fronts. She was previously taken into police custody and charged with felony involuntary manslaughter in connection with an alleged fatal drug overdose. Authorities claim Purvis intentionally distributed Tranq, a dangerous fentanyl-xylazine mixture, which they say led to the death of John Mark Harris.
In addition to the manslaughter charge, Purvis is also facing two more drug-related charges, including possession with intent to distribute.
The arrest occurred just weeks after a devastating personal loss for Purvis — the death of her teenage son, Weston Jr. The combination of mounting legal issues and personal tragedy has placed the former reality TV figure under intense scrutiny as her cases continue to move through the courts.
