Fowlie shared a photo of his sister on Instagram along with details from a missing person report, urging anyone with information to contact police. According to the report, Christina was last heard from in late November.
“My sister has been missing and we are worried that she isn’t safe,” Fowlie wrote. “Her married name is Downer, but she may go by Christina Fowlie. Please share this so that if anyone has seen her, they can give any information to the police.”
He included a police contact number, 213-996-1800, and a case number, 25237639, asking people to reference it if they reach out with tips. Christina was last seen in the Los Angeles area.
Support quickly spread across the comedy community. Several of Fowlie’s “Saturday Night Live” colleagues, including cast members Bowen Yang and Sarah Sherman, reshared the missing person notice to help amplify the search.
Fowlie has been a writer on “Saturday Night Live” since Season 48 in 2022. He is best known for co-writing the viral “Domingo” sketch, which starred cast member Marcello Hernandez and host Ariana Grande. Before joining SNL, Fowlie was part of the The Groundlings and appeared on TV shows such as The Comeback, 2 Broke Girls, The Other Two, Search Party, and English Teacher. He also co-wrote and starred in the Off-Broadway musical So Long Boulder City.
The appeal for help comes just days after “Saturday Night Live” aired its Christmas episode, hosted by Grande. The show is set to return in January with Finn Wolfhard as host and A$AP Rocky as musical guest. The holiday broadcast also marked Yang’s final episode as a cast member.
Anyone who may have seen Christina or has information about her whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles Police Department using the phone number provided. Fowlie and his family continue to ask for shares and support as they wait for answers.
