North West Makes Her Instagram Debut With a Signature Kardashian Pose

North West is officially stepping into the social media spotlight.

On Saturday, December 20, the 12-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West made her long-anticipated debut on Instagram. Her very first post was simple, stylish, and instantly familiar to fans of her famous family.

In the blurry photo, North West flashed two peace signs — a pose her mom is well known for — while standing in a dark room glowing with Christmas lights. She wore a printed Balenciaga T-shirt, a mini skirt, and boots, with her hair slicked back into a neat bun. The caption said it all: “First post.”

According to her bio, the account is managed by her parents. Even so, North wasted no time gaining attention. Within hours, she had already crossed more than 400,000 followers, including her mom Kim and grandmother Kris Jenner. For now, North isn’t following anyone.

She followed up her debut with a second post on Sunday, December 21. This time, she covered her face with her hands while showing off bright blue hair peeking out from under a large, fluffy hat — another glimpse into her bold and playful sense of style.

North is the eldest child of Kim and Kanye, who split in 2021 and finalized their divorce in 2022. The former couple also share three younger children: Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

While Instagram may be new territory, North is no stranger to social media. She already runs a popular shared TikTok account with her mom called “KimandNorth,” where she regularly posts funny dance videos and playful clips featuring family and friends.

In recent months, North has also been experimenting more openly with her personal style. In October, she was spotted with friends wearing fake body modifications, including temporary face tattoos, a nose piercing, and grillz. Earlier this month, she responded to criticism over a dermal-style finger piercing by lip-syncing to a viral audio and writing, “This is for everyone that’s mad over a finger piercing.”

She’s also been having fun with her hair and makeup. In a series of TikTok videos, North revealed she had bleached her eyebrows and modeled a long blue wig, encouraging viewers with a simple message: “Enjoy your lifeeee.”

With her Instagram debut now official, it’s clear North West is confidently carving out her own creative space — on her own terms, even with the world watching.
