Noah Schnapp Calls Being Godfather to Millie Bobby Brown’s Baby Girl “Such an Honor”

Noah Schnapp is opening up about what it means to be the godfather to Millie Bobby Brown’s baby girl — and he couldn’t be prouder.

The Stranger Things star, 21, recently appeared on The View, where he discussed the final season of the hit Netflix series, the growth of his character, and his close bond with Brown. During the conversation, Schnapp shared heartfelt thoughts about being chosen as godfather to his longtime friend’s newborn daughter.

“Oh, it’s like, such an honor,” Schnapp said. “It’s crazy because we’ve grown up together. When we were little kids, she was like, ‘When I have a kid, you’re definitely going to be the godfather to my kid.’ Then we grew up, she had a kid, and now I am.”

Millie Bobby Brown, 21, welcomed her baby girl with husband Jake Bongiovi, 23, through adoption. The actress announced the news on Instagram on Thursday, August 21, writing, “This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy. And then there were 3.”

Brown later confirmed Schnapp’s special role during the red carpet premiere of the final season of Stranger Things. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she revealed that while co-star Sadie Sink is very maternal, Schnapp is officially her daughter’s godfather.

“They all turn into the most gooey, soft versions of themselves when they’re around her,” Brown said, adding that baby voices quickly come out.

Schnapp also shared his excitement about seeing Brown step into motherhood. “It’s honestly the greatest joy,” he told the outlet. “It’s crazy to see her grow from such a wide-eyed, innocent, silly girl to now being married and a mom. I’m just so proud of her.”

Although Brown is keeping her daughter largely out of the public eye, the baby is never too far away. Recently, she made an unexpected appearance — or rather, a sound cameo — during a BuzzFeed “kitten interview” with Schnapp. When a baby cry was heard in the background, Brown smiled and said, “That’s my child. That’s my kitten.”

As Brown embraces motherhood and Schnapp steps into his role as godfather, their longtime friendship continues to evolve — just like they promised it would years ago.
