The actress, 39, opened up about her emotions during a recent appearance at a wellness event in Miami, where she spoke candidly about sensitivity, motherhood, and what truly matters to her now.
“When I get the most sensitive and feel the most emotional is when people are nice to me,” said Lindsay Lohan, admitting that kind words during interviews often leave her overwhelmed. “Someone will say something nice and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to cry, thank you.’”
Lohan laughed as she blamed part of it on her zodiac sign, calling herself “very sensitive” and noting that she’s a Cancer. But she also said those emotions come from something deeper.
“Being truly seen for who you are,” she explained, is what affects her most.
Speaking to a crowd at Art Basel Miami during The Wellness Oasis, Lohan reflected on how she stays grounded in a fast-moving world. For her, balance starts with self-care and mindfulness.
“It’s important to always take a moment because everything is moving so fast all the time,” she said. “You are your own vessel — if you don’t nurture yourself, anything can distract you in a second.”
Much of Lohan’s sense of purpose today comes from motherhood. She shares her 2-year-old son, Luai, with her husband, Bader Shammas, and says she genuinely enjoys every part of being a mom.
“All of it,” she said when asked what she loves most. “Every single moment. Just knowing you can share your life with another person.”
She also pushed back against the idea that parents should constantly worry about how fast childhood passes.
“People say, ‘Hold onto it because it’s going to fly by,’” Lohan said. “But if you’re present in the moments you spend with your children, you really don’t miss anything.”
These days, her motivation is clear and simple.
“Every day my purpose is to be a great mom, be a great wife, be a great daughter, be a great sister,” she said. “And I want to be a good role model too.”
Professionally, Lohan is enjoying a strong comeback. She recently starred in the hit sequel Freakier Friday opposite Jamie Lee Curtis, and next she’ll appear alongside Shailene Woodley in the TV adaptation of Count My Lies.
For Lohan, success now looks less like headlines and more like presence — showing up fully for her family, her work, and herself.
