Keith Urban Spreads Holiday Cheer at Nashville Children’s Hospital

This holiday season, Keith Urban is giving back in a meaningful way.

Earlier this week, the 58-year-old country star visited Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, where he spent time with young patients and their families. During the visit, Urban led an acoustic sing-along, answered fan questions, took photos, and donated guitars to support the hospital’s music therapy program.

The special gathering took place at the hospital’s Seacrest Studios, bringing smiles and music to children receiving treatment. Hospital president Meg Rush, MD, MMHC, praised Urban’s continued support in a statement.

“We are truly grateful for Keith’s time,” Rush said. “He is a wonderful friend to our hospital with several visits over the years. His thoughtful and generous gift of guitars to our Music Therapy Program will help us continue using music as added therapy to bring comfort and healing to children during their hospital stay.”

According to the hospital, board-certified music therapists use music to help children and families with emotional support, pain and anxiety management, coping skills, developmental goals, and overall well-being.

Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital is one of the nation’s leading pediatric medical centers and the largest children’s hospital in the Southeast. It is nationally ranked in 10 specialties and is known for its advanced neonatal, emergency, and pediatric care, as well as groundbreaking research and innovation.

Urban’s visit comes during a busy and transitional period in his life. Last month, he returned to the stage at the 2025 CMA Awards, performing his 1999 hit “Where the Blacktop Ends” alongside host Lainey Wilson. The appearance marked his first televised performance since his separation from estranged wife Nicole Kidman. The couple split on September 29, and Kidman filed for divorce the following day after 19 years of marriage.

After wrapping up his High and Alive World Tour earlier this year, Urban is set to continue performing in 2026, with upcoming concert dates scheduled across the Caribbean, England, the United States, and Canada.

For now, his holiday visit in Nashville highlights a softer note—using music not just to entertain, but to comfort and heal.
