Jack White Blasts GOP Congressman Over Fake AI Video Targeting Him

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jack White is furious after a Republican congressman shared a fake AI video that falsely showed the musician attacking supporters of Donald Trump.

The controversy began when Tim Burchett, a U.S. Representative from Tennessee, reposted an AI-generated clip on X. The four-second video used White’s likeness but someone else’s voice, making it appear as if the musician was yelling at Trump supporters and telling them not to listen to his music.

Along with sharing the clip, Burchett added a mocking comment comparing White to “that cute little girl from the Addams Family,” escalating the situation further.

White quickly fired back on Instagram, calling it shocking that a sitting member of Congress would spread a fabricated video without checking if it was real. He said the repost showed a lack of maturity and dignity from someone holding what he described as a once-respected public office.

White also made it clear that the words in the video were not his and that the entire clip was fake. He accused Burchett and other pro-Trump politicians of hiding behind social media and engaging in what he described as childish bullying rather than honest debate.

This isn’t the first time White has publicly criticized Trump or the MAGA movement. Earlier this month, he condemned Trump’s remarks following the death of actor and director Rob Reiner, and last year he slammed Trump over what he called a “disgusting” reimagining of the White House Oval Office.

In his latest post, White went much further, accusing Trump-aligned politicians of lacking class, dignity, and respect for democracy. He criticized what he called “fake Christian rhetoric,” said America’s leadership has become embarrassing on the world stage, and argued that the country deserves better than “playground bullies” in power.

White also suggested that, in the future, many people currently aligned with MAGA will deny ever supporting it. He predicted that the movement would fade, replaced by more thoughtful and honorable leadership.

He closed by pointing to past American leaders he admires, including John F. Kennedy, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Martin Luther King Jr., questioning whether many current lawmakers have even read the Constitution they swore to uphold.

As AI-generated media becomes more common, the incident highlights growing concerns about misinformation, accountability, and how public officials use their platforms — especially when false content targets private citizens and artists.
