The Grammy-winning DJ, who makes up half of the EDM duo The Chainsmokers alongside Alex Pall, married the model and GENTE Beauty founder in a romantic sunset ceremony by the sea. The couple shared the happy news on Instagram on Monday, Dec. 29, posting a joyful video from their wedding day.
In the clip, set to “Champagne” by Austin Farwell, Taggart and Fonseca are seen barefoot in the sand as the sun dips into the ocean behind them. They dance separately before Fonseca leaps into Taggart’s arms, sealing the moment with a kiss. Two spotted horses stand nearby, adding to the dreamy, laid-back vibe.
Fonseca, 36, wore a simple white summer dress, while Taggart, 35, kept things classic in a white shirt and black trousers. “WE ARE MARRIED!” the couple wrote in the caption.
The intimate seaside wedding was exactly what Fonseca had always envisioned. Speaking shortly after their engagement in December 2024, she said she wanted a celebration that felt small, personal, and stress-free. “I want it to feel very intimate, with just the people we truly love,” she shared at the time.
The couple first met in March 2023 at an Oscars party hosted by talent manager Guy Oseary. Despite moving in similar circles and both living in Los Angeles, they hadn’t formally met until Fonseca approached Taggart at the bar that night. Fans later spotted them together in May 2023, when they were seen holding hands in Miami after leaving a VIP party at Carbone restaurant.
Their relationship steadily grew more public, with both frequently appearing on each other’s social media. Taggart proposed in early December 2024 at the Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi, getting down on one knee with a five-carat elongated cushion-cut diamond ring.
Fonseca later revealed the proposal was intentionally private. “Nobody was there at the time of the proposal because Drew knew I wanted the moment to be just between us,” she said, adding that friends and family joined them afterward to celebrate.
Looking back, Fonseca said Taggart focused on making the moment meaningful rather than flashy. Surrounded by candlelight and red flowers, he told her he was the happiest man in the world and wanted to spend his life with her — a promise the couple has now officially made.
