Leaked Avengers: Doomsday Teasers Reveal Possible Return of Chris Evans as Captain America

Marvel Studios’ upcoming blockbuster Avengers: Doomsday has made headlines earlier than expected after three teaser trailers leaked online just days before their planned release.

The teasers were meant to play only in cinemas alongside James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash. According to The Express Tribune, Marvel had planned a four-week teaser rollout starting December 19, with one teaser shown exclusively in theatres each week. Despite strict anti-piracy warnings, audience members reportedly recorded three of the four teasers and shared them online. Marvel quickly removed the clips, but not before they spread widely across social media and fan forums.

The leaked footage has sparked massive discussion, mainly because it appears to focus on major legacy characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers Steals the Spotlight

The most talked-about teaser reportedly centers on Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, strongly hinting at the return of Captain America. While Marvel has not officially confirmed Evans’ involvement, the teaser allegedly shows Steve riding a motorcycle to the quiet house last seen at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Inside the home, Steve is said to look at his old Captain America suit but ultimately chooses to pick up his infant son, believed to be James Rogers. The clip reportedly ends with the text:
“Steve Rogers Will Return In Avengers: Doomsday,” followed by a release countdown.

Earlier this year, Evans publicly denied being part of the next Avengers film. “I talk to [Robert Downey Jr. and the Russos] all the time,” he said. “It’s sad to not be back with the band, but I’m sure they’re doing something incredible.” After the leak, many fans believe the actor may have intentionally downplayed his role to protect the surprise.

Industry insider Daniel RPK also weighed in, claiming the first teaser confirms Steve Rogers’ return and positions him as the emotional center of the film. According to him, the goal is to establish Steve as the lead character in Avengers: Doomsday.

Thor and Doctor Doom Set Up the Conflict

The other leaked teasers reportedly introduce Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, hinting at the film’s central conflict. Reports suggest Marvel may be reworking parts of its post-Endgame storyline, shifting focus back to familiar characters after mixed reactions to newer heroes.

Star-Studded Cast and Release Date

Avengers: Doomsday features a massive ensemble cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Robert Downey Jr. The lineup also includes Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, and Channing Tatum.

The film is directed by the Russo Brothers and written by Stephen McFeely. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars set to follow on December 17, 2027.

While Marvel has stayed silent on the leaked footage, the buzz surrounding Avengers: Doomsday is already at full force — and fans are eagerly waiting for official confirmation of what could be one of the MCU’s biggest surprises yet.
