ADOR Confirms Contract Changes for NewJeans as Legal Dispute Continues

ADOR has shared a major update on the contracts of the NewJeans members, confirming that Danielle’s exclusive contract has been terminated, while Hanni will continue her activities with the agency.

In an official statement released on December 29, ADOR explained that the developments follow a court ruling on October 30 that upheld the validity of the group’s exclusive contracts. That decision set the stage for renewed talks between the agency, the members, and their families.

According to ADOR, Hanni recently returned to Korea with her family and held lengthy, in-depth discussions with the company. During those conversations, both sides revisited past events and reassessed the situation more objectively. As a result, Hanni decided to respect the court’s ruling and continue her career under ADOR.

The agency also revealed that Minji remains in discussions with ADOR, with talks ongoing to improve mutual understanding. Previously, ADOR had stated that Haerin and Hyein expressed their intention to continue activities with the label as well.

Danielle’s situation, however, reached a different outcome. ADOR said it concluded that continuing together would be difficult and formally notified Danielle of the termination of her exclusive contract. The company added that it plans to pursue legal accountability against a member of Danielle’s family and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, whom it says bear significant responsibility for triggering the dispute and delaying NewJeans’ return.

In its statement, ADOR claimed that the members had been exposed to distorted and biased information over a long period, leading to misunderstandings about the company that ultimately fueled the conflict. The agency said both sides now agree that clearing up those misunderstandings—based on accurate facts—is essential to regaining the trust and support of fans and the public.

ADOR emphasized that it is committed to resolving the situation amicably and helping NewJeans return to fans as soon as possible, even if rebuilding trust takes time.
