Christian Pulisic Shuts Down Sydney Sweeney Dating Rumors

Christian Pulisic is putting a firm stop to rumors about his personal life.

The U.S. soccer star spoke out after online gossip claimed he was romantically involved with actress Sydney Sweeney, following her reported breakup from ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino earlier this year.

On Dec. 28, Pulisic addressed the speculation directly on Instagram. “Please stop with the made up stories about my personal life,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories. “Need to hold sources accountable — it can affect people’s lives.” He doubled down in the comments of another post spreading the claim, adding, “Fake news guys let’s stop with the silly rumor.”

The rumors appear to have started after an Italian gossip column reported unverified claims that first surfaced on an Instagram page called Bomber’s DNA. While the story quickly gained traction online, Pulisic made it clear there is no truth to it.

In reality, Pulisic has reportedly been in a relationship with fellow athlete Alexa Melton since 2024.

Meanwhile, Sweeney’s love life has also been the subject of attention. The Euphoria star has been dating music executive Scooter Braun since early September, according to sources. “Scooter and Sydney are going strong and things between them are great,” a source shared in early December. “They’re in a committed relationship and things are serious.”

The pair have been spotted together several times over the past few months and were photographed sharing a kiss in New York City’s Central Park in November. They were also seen holding hands during a night out in Los Angeles in late September.

Sources say those close to Sweeney are happy to see her in a relationship where she feels at ease. Braun’s friends reportedly feel the same, noting that he seems especially settled following his 2022 divorce from Yael Cohen, with whom he shares three children.

For Pulisic, the message is simple: the rumors are false, and he wants them to stop. By speaking out publicly, the soccer captain made it clear that online speculation can have real consequences — and that sometimes, “fake news” is just that.
