Sophie Turner Goes Airborne While Filming New ‘Tomb Raider’ Series

Sophie Turner is diving straight into action for the upcoming Tomb Raider — and yes, that includes jumping out of the sky.

The actress was recently spotted filming intense scenes near Surrey, just outside London, where she appeared to parachute into a beach landing. Using movie magic, Turner was strapped into a rig while a large parachute billowed behind her, making it look like her character had just leaped from a plane.

Crew members ran the scene several times, carefully guiding her forward as the parachute caught the wind. The result? A dramatic, high-flying entrance that fits perfectly with the adventurous spirit of Lara Croft.

After finishing the parachute shots, Turner switched things up. She ditched the bulky parachute pack for a smaller, video game–style backpack and headed into the woods to film more ground-based action scenes. The look closely matches Lara Croft’s iconic style from the games — practical, tough, and ready for anything.

Promotional images have already shown Turner fully transformed into the legendary explorer, and many fans agree she looks strikingly similar to the character. Still, longtime followers of the franchise continue to debate their favorite Lara Croft portrayals, with some remaining loyal to Angelina Jolie or Alicia Vikander, who previously brought the role to life on the big screen.

The new series also boasts a strong supporting cast, including Jason Isaacs, Bill Paterson, and Sigourney Weaver, adding serious star power to the project.

With high-energy stunts, familiar iconography, and a fresh take on Lara Croft, the upcoming Tomb Raider series looks set to deliver action, adventure, and plenty of thrills — starting from the sky.
