Shia LaBeouf Seen Bar Hopping in New Orleans During Mardi Gras Weekend

Shia LaBeouf was spotted at multiple bars in New Orleans’ Uptown neighborhood over the Mardi Gras weekend, according to employees and patrons who say the actor appeared intoxicated during several outings.

LaBeouf, known for his roles in the Transformers franchise and the 2003 film Holes, has previously spoken publicly about his struggles with alcoholism and said he was sober. He has also blamed past abusive behavior toward former girlfriend FKA Twigs on his addiction.

Incident at Ms. Mae’s During Bacchus Parade

Witnesses say LaBeouf was at Ms. Mae's late Sunday as the Bacchus super-krewe parade rolled down St. Charles Avenue, one of the biggest events of Mardi Gras.

According to bar staff, LaBeouf arrived without a shirt or cash and appeared “inebriated” and “somewhat belligerent.” A doorman said the actor attempted the “Do you know who I am?” approach while crowds filled the streets outside.

Employees said he asked multiple times to use a credit card despite the bar’s numerous “Cash Only” signs. At one point, staff asked him to leave after he reportedly tried to step behind the bar and act as a “celebrity bartender.”

“He was so nice on Thursday,” one bartender said, noting that his behavior changed by Sunday night.

LaBeouf eventually left the bar without further incident.

Other Reported Sightings Across Uptown

Over the extended Mardi Gras weekend, LaBeouf was reportedly seen at several other New Orleans establishments, including:

• Dos Jefes, a cigar bar and live jazz club

• 45 Tchoup along the parade route

• Brothers III Lounge on Magazine Street

A patron at Dos Jefes said the actor was “louder than everyone” and appeared to give acting instructions to another guest at the bar.

At 45 Tchoup, co-owner Deb Shatz confirmed LaBeouf visited twice over the past two weekends and described him as “totally chill.” She noted he left without signing his credit card receipt, prompting the bar to add a 20 percent gratuity.

Staff at Brothers III Lounge also confirmed sightings of the actor.

Staying in Uptown for Mardi Gras

According to people who spoke with him, LaBeouf said he was staying at a luxury Airbnb in Uptown, where many of the city’s largest Mardi Gras parades take place.

Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans culminate on Fat Tuesday, drawing thousands of revelers to Uptown and the French Quarter. The Bacchus parade is among the most popular super-krewes, attracting large crowds each year.

LaBeouf has not publicly commented on the reported bar crawl.
