In a new cover story with Variety, published Feb. 11, the actress addressed the constant rumors questioning their relationship. Her response? She’s no longer bothered.
“We’re eight years in,” Priyanka said. “If people want to keep waiting for it to implode, that’s their choice. I stopped thinking about it.”
The 43-year-old star, who appears in the upcoming action film The Bluff, married singer Nick Jonas in 2018 after a whirlwind romance. The couple tied the knot within six months of meeting and now share a 4-year-old daughter, Malti.
Looking back on the early days of their relationship, Priyanka admitted she had doubts at first — not about Nick, but about how sincere he seemed.
“When I first married him, I didn’t know if it was even real. This part of him. Because I was like this is crazy. This is put on,” she said. “But Nick has this absolute sincerity. It inspires me every day in a profession which requires you to pivot and become whatever you need to put on. He’s constantly sincere.”
She also praised his upbringing, calling his parents “the most wonderful, levelheaded, absolute saints,” and said she can see where his grounded nature comes from.
Despite their strong bond, Priyanka acknowledged that their relationship initially “rubbed people the wrong way.”
“I think there was the intercultural nature of it — different countries, different religions, age gap. It was very hurtful,” she shared. “And we both, instead of looking out, just sort of looked at each other, and we were like, ‘It doesn’t matter.’ So it’s like water off a duck’s back now.”
Over the years, the couple has publicly celebrated their love. In July 2024, Nick marked six years since proposing, writing on Instagram, “I asked the most amazing woman in the world to marry me 6 years ago today. Thank you for saying yes.”
For their seventh wedding anniversary in December 2025, Nick called Priyanka his “dream girl,” while she wrote, “You’re what dreams are made of.”
Now, eight years into marriage, Priyanka seems unfazed by outside noise — choosing instead to focus on family, work, and the relationship she says continues to inspire her.
The Bluff begins streaming on Prime Video on Feb. 25.
