After Bad Bunny’s electrifying Super Bowl Halftime Show, Gaga took to social media to praise the Puerto Rican superstar and reflect on her surprise appearance during the performance. The pop icon joined Bad Bunny onstage for a salsa-infused version of her 2024 hit “Die With a Smile,” which played during a memorable moment when a real-life couple got married live during the show.
“It was my absolute honor to be a part of Benito’s halftime show,” Lady Gaga wrote on Instagram, sharing video of the two dancing together. “Thank you Benito for inviting me and thank you to the entire cast for welcoming me onto your stage. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
Bad Bunny’s halftime set was packed with surprises, energy, and star power. Along with Gaga, Latin music legend Ricky Martin also appeared, later posting his emotional reaction in Spanish. “They need to give me several hours to process the tsunami of emotions I’m feeling,” he wrote.
The night didn’t stop there. Bad Bunny turned the stage into a full-on celebration, inviting a mix of celebrities to dance and party during the performance, including Pedro Pascal, Karol G, Cardi B, Jessica Alba, and Alex Earle.
Gaga, who previously headlined her own Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2017, has been having a big awards season of her own. She was recently nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys for Mayhem, but the top prize ultimately went to Bad Bunny for Debí Tirar Más Fotos. Cameras caught Gaga tearing up as he accepted the award.
“I’m just so happy for him,” Gaga told Entertainment Tonight after the ceremony. “What he means to people is so incredibly important. He is a brilliant musician and human being. He is so incredibly kind.”
She also praised Bad Bunny for using his platform to speak out on social issues. During one of his Grammy acceptance speeches, Bad Bunny made a strong statement, saying “ICE out” and reminding the audience of immigrants’ humanity.
“We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans,” he said. “Hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love.”
For Gaga, that message clearly resonated. “What he said is so inspiring,” she added. “What’s happening in this country is so heartbreaking, and we are so lucky to have leaders like him speaking up for what’s right.”
Between the music, the message, and the shared respect between artists, Bad Bunny’s halftime show — and Gaga’s surprise appearance — became one of the most talked-about moments of the night.
