Glover, 61, is facing multiple allegations in the lawsuit, including battery, fraud, wrongful eviction, malicious prosecution, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violations of California’s civil rights law, known as the Bane Act. He has denied the claims, calling them “baseless allegations.”
Allegations of Grooming and Control
The complaint was filed by a woman identified as Jane Doe, described as a model from the United Kingdom. She alleges that she first connected with Glover on social media in 2015, claiming he made “strange advances” and encouraged her to move to Los Angeles.
According to the filing, the two met in person in 2023 in Dresden, Germany. Jane Doe alleges that during that meeting, Glover showed her items from a collection of Nazi memorabilia. She further claims she was “groomed” over time, saying the actor promised her a fresh start and a potential career in the entertainment industry through a business arrangement with him.
The lawsuit states that Glover later offered her a home and a job as his assistant if she moved to Los Angeles in 2024.
Claims of Captivity and Assault
After relocating to Los Angeles, Jane Doe alleges she found herself in what she describes as a controlling and disturbing situation. According to the complaint, she claims Glover monitored her movements and expected her to serve as a live-in girlfriend.
She says she depended entirely on his promises of financial support and housing.
The situation allegedly escalated in early March 2024. Jane Doe claims that after she left the house to go to a mosque, she returned to find herself locked out. She alleges Glover evicted her without notice, leaving her homeless.
The complaint also accuses Glover of physically assaulting her when she attempted to re-enter the home to retrieve her belongings and pet cats. She claims he grabbed her neck and choked her in a headlock, leaving a visible wound and scar.
Dispute Over Police Report and Restraining Order
Jane Doe further alleges that Glover filed a false police report accusing her of being an unlawful intruder and later obtained a restraining order against her. She claims the restraining order went viral, damaging her career and reputation. According to the complaint, the restraining order was eventually dismissed for failure to prosecute.
She is seeking a jury trial to determine special and general damages, along with legal fees and other relief.
Glover’s Response
In a statement to TMZ, Glover’s representative strongly denied the allegations.
“The reality is that on March 2, 2024, Mr. Glover was the victim of an unprovoked felony assault by Jane Doe at his Los Angeles residence,” the statement said. “Mr. Glover called LAPD, which came to the scene, investigated, and arrested Jane Doe.”
The statement added that law enforcement records and the restraining order support Glover’s version of events. His representative also said that the actor intends to “vigorously defend himself” and is confident that the lawsuit will be proven “a meritless fabrication.”
The case is expected to proceed through the courts, where both sides will have the opportunity to present evidence supporting their claims.
