Andrew Scott Joins Emily Blunt in Netflix Drama ‘Walk the Blue Fields’


Andrew Scott is set to star opposite Emily Blunt in Walk the Blue Fields, a new romantic drama based on the acclaimed short story by Irish author Claire Keegan. Netflix has joined the project alongside Compelling Pictures, Element Pictures, Fremantle and Ledbury Productions.

The film will also feature Tom Cullen and Ciarán Hinds.

John Crowley, best known for directing Brooklyn, is in talks to helm the movie in Ireland. The screenplay is written by Tony-nominated playwright and screenwriter Conor McPherson.

Walk the Blue Fields centers on a woman on her wedding day who faces a painful decision when a past love triangle threatens to come to light.

Denis O’Sullivan and Jeff Kalligheri of Compelling Pictures will produce and finance the film. Emily Blunt will produce through her Ledbury Productions banner, alongside Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe for Fremantle. Executive producers include Ori Allon, Matthew Gallagher, Dennis Casali, Steven Garcia, Crowley, McPherson, Claire Keegan and Edmund Sampson.

Scott was recently seen in the Oscar-nominated film Blue Moon alongside Ethan Hawke and in the latest Knives Out installment, Wake Up Dead Man. He will next appear in the World War II drama Pressure, as well as A Place In Hell and Elsinore.
