Alyssa Farah Griffin Is in Labor as The View Shares Joyful Baby News

Big news broke on Tuesday’s episode of The View — co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin is officially in labor and preparing to welcome her first child.

The announcement was made by Whoopi Goldberg, who opened the show by explaining Griffin’s absence. Goldberg revealed that Griffin was at the hospital getting ready to give birth to a baby boy, prompting loud cheers and gasps from the studio audience.

“I don’t know if you saw the show yesterday,” Goldberg joked, “but it turns out Alyssa was right about Bad Bunny’s halftime show putting her into labor. It put her into labor!”

The audience erupted in applause as Goldberg sent well wishes to her co-host and encouraged everyone to cheer her on. “Welcome that baby!” she said.

The happy moment also sparked some playful banter among the panel. Joy Behar jokingly asked if Griffin might name the baby “Bunny,” while Sunny Hostin suggested “Benito,” pointing out that Bad Bunny’s real name is Benito. Griffin first announced her pregnancy in October during an episode of The View, sharing that she and her husband, Justin Griffin, were expecting their first child after a long fertility journey.

“I’m so overjoyed,” Griffin said at the time. “I went through IVF. It was hard — it took about a year and five rounds — but he’s here. He’s coming.”

She later opened up even more on the show’s companion podcast Behind the Table, revealing that she and her husband had been trying to conceive for about a year and a half. Griffin said she felt it was important to share her story, especially to highlight how challenging the process can be.

“I had no idea at my age how hard this would be,” she explained. “I’m only 35. I thought I had plenty of time. I’m healthy, I work out, I eat right — but my body just wasn’t cooperating.”

Now, after months of openness and honesty about her journey, Griffin is on the verge of meeting her baby boy — and her The View family and fans are celebrating right along with her.
