According to legal documents finalized on Jan. 6 in Tennessee, the Oscar-winning actress and the Grammy-winning singer have completed their divorce just three months after Kidman filed to legally dissolve the marriage. The former couple reached an agreement without dispute, choosing to settle all matters privately and amicably.
Under the terms of the filing, both Kidman and Urban agreed to waive any claims to child support or spousal support. Each will also cover their own legal fees and related expenses. Their shared assets—including homes, vehicles, bank accounts, investments, and personal belongings—will be divided to the mutual satisfaction of both parties, with each retaining ownership of their individual possessions.
The pair also finalized a custody arrangement for their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. As outlined in the parenting plan, Kidman will spend the majority of the year—306 days—with the girls, while Urban will have custody every other weekend, totaling 59 days annually. The agreement mirrors the plan Kidman submitted when she initially filed for divorce.
Although a court hearing had been scheduled for Jan. 6, Kidman waived her right to appear in person. Both she and Urban agreed to move forward without formal discovery, meaning there were no interrogations, depositions, or detailed examinations of assets and debts.
The documents state that neither party wished to engage in prolonged legal proceedings, emphasizing their shared desire to resolve the matter respectfully and without conflict.
The separation followed a period of living apart that began in early summer. Reports later revealed that Urban made the decision to separate, while Kidman had hoped to reconcile. The actress, now 58, has long spoken openly about her deep connection to Urban and the intensity of their early relationship after meeting at a Los Angeles gala in 2005.
In past interviews, Kidman described falling for Urban quickly and believing he was “the love of my life.” Urban, 57, has echoed those sentiments, previously calling Kidman “the one” and describing their meeting as a pivotal moment that changed the course of his life.
Before her marriage to Urban, Kidman was married to Tom Cruise, with whom she shares two adult children, Isabella and Connor. Urban has also spoken candidly over the years about how his relationship with Kidman inspired personal growth and change.
While their marriage has ended, the divorce marks a quiet and cooperative conclusion to a high-profile relationship—one centered on mutual respect and a shared commitment to their children as they move forward separately.
