Kendall Jenner Addresses Rumors About Her Sexuality, Says She Is Not Gay

Kendall Jenner is shutting down long-running online speculation about her sexuality.

During an appearance on the In Your Dreams podcast on Friday, January 9, the 30-year-old model and reality star spoke candidly about rumors claiming she is a closeted lesbian. Jenner said the speculation itself is not what upsets her most — it’s the tone people use when discussing it.

“There’s this whole side of the internet that thinks I’m a lesbian,” Kendall Jenner said on the podcast, hosted by Owen Thiele. “What really bothers me is how mean people are about it. It’s not welcoming. It’s not kind.”

Jenner explained that while she does not identify as gay, she would not hide it if that were the case.

“I understand that coming out is not easy for a lot of people,” she said. “But knowing myself and how I want to live my life, I think I would be out if I was. I’m not saying it’s easy — I’m just saying that if that were who I was, I wouldn’t hide it.”

She also pushed back against claims she has seen online suggesting that being gay would be “bad for business.”

“I don’t understand that at all,” Jenner said. “I’ve seen some really messed up things about me ‘hiding’ something, and it just doesn’t make sense.”

Jenner concluded by clearly addressing the rumors: “As of today, I am not. I don’t think I will be, but I’m not closing doors to experiences in life.”

Over the years, Jenner has been linked to several high-profile partners. Her past relationships include a teenage romance with Harry Styles and a two-year relationship with NBA star Devin Booker. Most recently, she dated rapper Bad Bunny, though the pair reportedly ended their relationship in late 2023.

Despite her openness about her sexuality, Jenner has consistently chosen to keep her dating life private. Executive producer Farnaz Farjam previously explained that Jenner had a personal rule about relationships appearing on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

“She felt like she had to be with someone for at least a year before they became part of the show,” Farjam said in 2021. “She didn’t always know people’s intentions, so we respected that boundary.”

Jenner echoed that sentiment in a 2019 interview with Vogue Australia, saying her relationships are deeply personal.

“For me, my friends and relationships are very special and sacred,” she said at the time. “Bringing them into the public eye just makes everything so much messier.”

With her latest comments, Jenner made it clear that while she respects conversations around identity and self-discovery, the rumors about her sexuality are simply not true.
