On Monday, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Peele’s production company, Monkeypaw Productions, reacted to a post claiming Marvel wants Peele to direct a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. The response? Just a pair of 👀 eyes. That small reaction was enough to send fans into full speculation mode.
Many Marvel fans quickly shared their wish lists. They suggested Peele would be perfect for darker or more unusual projects like Blade, X-Men, or Midnight Sons.
But the excitement didn’t last long.
On Tuesday, Monkeypaw appeared to joke about the situation. The company posted a message saying, “When the internet thinks you're making a Blade reboot because you said 👀,” along with a funny image of Peele from a Key & Peele sketch. Monkeypaw also shared a headline on Instagram about the Marvel rumors, adding, “Your honor we are not confirming or denying this.”
In short, there is still no official confirmation.
Marvel Studios currently has only two confirmed future films: Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, both directed by the Russo brothers. Beyond that, Marvel has not announced its next full slate.
One major unanswered question remains Blade. The movie was announced back in 2019 with Mahershala Ali attached to star, but it has faced multiple delays and currently has no director.
As for Peele, he has consistently said he isn’t interested in making superhero or franchise films. While promoting Get Out in 2017, he said his focus was on original stories, especially social and psychological horror. He repeated similar thoughts in later interviews, explaining that he feels his time is better spent telling new stories rather than working within large franchises.
Peele’s own next movie is also a mystery. His fourth directorial film has been delayed several times and currently has no release date.
So, is Jordan Peele directing a Marvel movie?
For now, the answer is simple: there’s no confirmation — just playful teasing and a lot of fan speculation.
