Jennifer Lawrence Says First Day Filming With Robert Pattinson Was a Naked Fight Scene

Jennifer Lawrence has shared a surprising story about the first day she worked with Robert Pattinson on their new movie, Die My Love.

Speaking during The Hollywood Reporter’s Actress Roundtable, Lawrence said their very first scene together was intense and awkward. The two actors had to film a naked scene where their characters attacked each other “like tigers.”

Lawrence explained that director Lynne Ramsay wanted them to be prepared, so she sent Lawrence and Pattinson to interpretive dance lessons before filming began. The goal was to help them feel more comfortable with the physical and emotional intensity of the scene.

Even though it might sound stressful, Lawrence said starting the movie that way actually helped. Because the hardest scene was done on the first day, it wasn’t something they had to worry about later in the shoot.

Fellow actress Amanda Seyfried, who was also part of the roundtable, praised the idea. She joked that once you’ve seen everything on day one, there’s nothing left to feel awkward about. Lawrence agreed, adding that it made things easier mentally.

Lawrence also clarified that the dance lessons themselves were not done nude.

In Die My Love, Lawrence plays Grace, a new mother struggling with postpartum depression and a deep need for connection. Pattinson plays her boyfriend, Jackson. The film also stars Sissy Spacek, LaKeith Stanfield, and Nick Nolte.

Spacek, who plays Jackson’s mother in the film, recently praised Lawrence and Pattinson’s performances. She said their scenes together were powerful and emotional, especially moments where the characters fight and then reconcile.

Die My Love is now playing in theaters and is also available to rent or buy on streaming platforms.
