The eldest member of the band HAIM, 39, tied the knot with tech entrepreneur Jonathan Levin on New Year’s Eve. The couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony, keeping most details of the celebration under wraps.
Ahead of the big day, Vogue followed Este and her sisters, Danielle Haim and Alana Haim, to Paris for fittings at the Louis Vuitton atelier. The feature offered a first look at Este’s wedding wardrobe, which included looks for the ceremony, reception, and after-party, along with bridesmaid dresses for her sisters.
“I’ve been looking forward to this day since I was five,” Este told Vogue. She described long imagining herself walking down a spiral staircase in a grand ballroom gown to meet her future husband.
Este’s wedding dress lived up to that childhood dream. The gown featured a lace-detailed jacket with a high neck and puff sleeves, worn over a sweetheart-neckline dress with dramatic volume. Her sisters served as her “something blue,” wearing long, spaghetti-strap dresses with soft gathering at the hips.
“I feel like the exact way that I wanted to be on my wedding day,” Este said, praising Louis Vuitton designer Nicolas Ghesquière for fully understanding her vision.
While fashion played a big role, Este made it clear that the people mattered most. She said she was especially excited to have her entire family together and to celebrate with close friends. “The most important thing is that I’m getting married and that I met the right person,” she said.
Este and Levin have kept their relationship largely private. In a June 2025 interview with GQ, she revealed they met a few years earlier through a blind date arranged by mutual friends. Their first date took place at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, which Este described as an art space with good food and drinks.
She announced their engagement just before Valentine’s Day, sharing a photo of her engagement ring along with a playful shirt that read, “I’M TAKEN.” She followed it up the next day with a sweet Valentine’s message posted over a screenshot of the couple on a video call.
Although they stay out of the spotlight, Levin has appeared with Este at several high-profile events. The two were seen at Kansas City Chiefs games alongside Este’s close friend Taylor Swift, as well as at Swift’s birthday party and the U.S. Open. Este later said attending the U.S. Open was an experience she would happily repeat “a jillion times.”
Like her sisters, Este has often spoken about personal growth away from the band’s sibling dynamic. In a 2023 interview with The Cut, she reflected on learning self-love later in life. “There’s an air of confidence that comes from just loving yourself,” she said.
Now, as she starts married life with Levin, Este is entering a new chapter — one she says feels exactly right.
