Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert Hough Welcome Baby Girl After Emotional Journey

Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert Hough, have officially stepped into a joyful new chapter: parenthood.

The couple announced the arrival of their first child, a daughter named Everley Capri Hough, who was born on Monday, Dec. 29. They shared the happy news with fans through a joint Instagram post, offering a tender black-and-white photo of their hands gently cradling their newborn’s tiny feet.

“December 29, 2025 Everley Capri Hough 🤍,” they wrote in the caption. “Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.”

Hough, 40, and Erbert Hough, 31, tied the knot in August 2023 and revealed they were expecting their first baby together in late July. Their pregnancy announcement came in the form of a heartfelt video showing the couple embracing against a scenic backdrop as Hayley revealed a strip of sonogram photos to the camera.

“We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small ♥️,” they wrote at the time.

In the months leading up to Everley’s arrival, Derek openly shared his excitement about becoming a father. During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, he admitted the reality of impending fatherhood would sometimes catch him by surprise.

“Sometimes I forget, and then I see her bump and I’m like, ‘Whoa. I’m gonna be a dad,’” he said, adding that he couldn’t wait to begin the journey.

He also recalled the first time he felt his baby kick, describing the moment as deeply emotional and transformative. “All of a sudden everything became vivid and different,” he shared. “I’m going to feel something I’ve never experienced before.”

The couple’s joy is especially meaningful following a period of loss. In October, during Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, Derek and Hayley shared an emotional video honoring previous miscarriages they experienced.

“This video is a tribute to a part of our story,” they wrote. “A chapter of loss, love, celebration, heartbreak and everything in between.”

They spoke candidly about the pain of miscarriage, noting that one in four pregnancies end this way, and offered hope to others going through similar heartbreak. “As we share this, know that there’s a rainbow not far behind,” they added.

Now, with the arrival of baby Everley Capri, that rainbow has finally arrived—marking a moment of love, healing, and new beginnings for the Hough family.
