The Age of Disclosure Director Says Marco Rubio Was Deeply Alarmed by UAP Threats

Director Dan Farah says he could feel the intensity in Marco Rubio when the then-senator spoke about the dangers of unexplained objects in the sky.

Farah, who directed the documentary The Age of Disclosure, recalls interviewing Rubio when he was vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Sitting just a few feet away, Farah says Rubio’s concern was unmistakable.

“He was unbelievably serious,” Farah says. “You could feel how worried he was.”

The film focuses on UAPs — Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena — a term now used instead of UFOs. It argues that the U.S. government has had access to non-human technology since at least the 1947 Roswell incident, and that rival nations like Russia and China may have similar materials.

According to the documentary, the U.S. and its adversaries are locked in a quiet race to understand and reverse-engineer this technology. Farah interviewed dozens of high-ranking military, intelligence, and government officials who believe the stakes could not be higher.

In the film, Rubio warns on camera that the greatest danger may be underestimating what other nations could achieve first.

“We could wake up one day and realize they got there ahead of us,” Rubio says in the documentary. “And now we’re screwed.”

The Age of Disclosure has drawn attention for its serious tone. Instead of dramatic recreations or flashy effects, it relies almost entirely on interviews with pilots, intelligence officials, and lawmakers from both political parties. The film suggests that for decades, people who spoke publicly about UAPs were often dismissed or discredited.

Farah says that approach was intentional.

“I wanted this to be sober and credible,” he explains. “No sensationalism.”

The documentary features bipartisan voices calling for more transparency, including Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Democratic Rep. André Carson, and Republican Sen. Mike Rounds. It also includes archival footage of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pushing for greater openness.

At one point, Rubio compares the potential surprise of UAP technology to Pearl Harbor and the 9/11 attacks, arguing that history shows how dangerous it can be to assume the unimaginable cannot happen.

Rubio has since left the Senate and now serves as Secretary of State and acting National Security Advisor in the second Trump administration. Farah believes that role gives Rubio access to even more classified information — and far less freedom to speak openly.

“He’s in a totally different position now,” Farah says. “What he says carries global consequences.”

Farah also believes the film could prepare the public for a moment unlike any other.

“I think it sets the stage for a president to one day say, ‘We’re not alone,’” he says. “That would be the biggest moment in human history.”

The Age of Disclosure is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.
