Just days before the clock ticks over to 2026, a Change.org petition titled “Deport Nicki Minaj to Trinidad” crossed the 70,000-signature mark. The surge suggests strong backlash from fans and critics who say the rapper’s recent political moves clash with her long-standing public image. Online, detractors have dubbed her “Nicki MAGAJ,” a nickname meant to mock what they see as a sharp turn toward MAGA-aligned politics.
The petition doesn’t stop at politics. It also points to Minaj’s long-running feud with Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation, framing that conflict as part of what organizers describe as erratic behavior. Petition language goes as far as calling Minaj a “danger to American soil,” a claim that has further inflamed debate across social media.
Adding fuel to the fire is the identity of the petition’s creator, who uses the name “Pedonika Minaj.” The alias appears designed to taunt Minaj and reference her husband, Kenneth Petty, a registered sex offender. The petition page reportedly includes multiple mugshots connected to Petty’s required check-ins and accuses Minaj of aggressively defending him while allegedly harassing his accusers in the past.
Supporters of the campaign say they’re holding Minaj accountable for who and what she publicly stands behind. Critics of the petition argue it’s performative outrage with no legal standing and note that petitions can’t trigger deportation. Still, the growing signature count shows the controversy has struck a nerve—and once again put Nicki Minaj at the center of a loud, polarizing cultural fight.
