While chatting with PEOPLE at the Formula 1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix on Nov. 22, the 66-year-old rapper admitted he hasn’t received a wedding invitation from the pop superstar and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. Still, he made it clear there’s no hard feelings.
“No, I didn’t get an invite to the wedding. I ain’t expect one,” Flav said with a laugh. “But they know they got my blessings. And if she invites me last minute? I’m going. King Swiftie gonna be at the wedding.”
Flav has proudly embraced the nickname “King Swiftie,” a title given to him by fellow fans because of his longtime love for Swift’s music. His admiration started well before they met in person at the iHeartRadio Awards in March 2023. Since then, the two have crossed paths again, including at the Grammys in February 2024.
He was also spotted more than once in the crowd during Swift’s Eras Tour, where he even earned a special shout-out from the singer — a moment that only cemented his status among Swift’s fanbase.
“I’m King Swiftie. I love the Swifties,” Flav said. “Mad shout-out to the Swifties, baby.”
Flav’s enthusiasm didn’t stop there. Less than a month after Swift and Kelce announced their engagement, he revealed that he was working on getting ordained — just in case the couple needed an officiant.
Speaking at the 2025 Black Music Action Coalition Gala in Beverly Hills, he joked about his hopes. “If she does get married, hopefully I’ll have my license in time,” he said. “I want to be the one officiating the wedding.”
Earlier this year, after performing Swift’s “Bad Blood” on The Masked Singer, Flav opened up about why he holds Swift in such high regard.
“I always go hard for Taylor Swift,” he said. “The Swifties gave me a brand new name — King Swiftie. And Taylor, she knows that too. I love her work.”
Flav didn’t hold back when praising Swift’s impact, calling her “one of the most important artists of our time.”
“I don’t know any other artist who can throw a concert and hit the Richter scale,” he added. “She causes earthquakes.”
Invite or not, one thing is clear: Flavor Flav will be cheering Swift and Kelce on — crown, clock, and all.
