The 28-year-old actress and singer, who is engaged to producer Mark Emms, opened up about her wedding plans while attending The Hollywood Reporter’s Annual Women in Entertainment Gala on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Despite being engaged for more than two years, Thorne admitted that planning hasn’t really begun yet.
“I do not have a date yet,” she said, explaining that work has taken priority for both her and Emms.
The couple first got engaged in May 2023 when Emms proposed at Thorne’s California home. In a romantic twist, Thorne later returned the gesture in August 2025 by proposing to him herself. Still, with busy schedules, the pair haven’t found the right moment to dive into wedding preparations.
Right now, Thorne is finishing up her film Color Your Hurt, a project she wrote and directed. After that, she’s set to turn her attention to the upcoming Spring Breakers sequel. Until those commitments are wrapped, wedding planning is on pause.
“I just directed a movie that I wrote, and so that is currently our baby, our child,” Thorne said. “Once we’re done with that, and the next project, then we can plan.”
While she does want things to feel right, Thorne made it clear she’s not obsessing over perfection. “If a bunch of stuff goes wrong, I’m like, ‘Eh, as long as you’re happy,’” she said with a laugh.
When Emms first proposed, he presented Thorne with a striking emerald-cut diamond ring, and the couple celebrated the moment with family. At the time, Thorne shared that she dreamed of a countryside wedding at a manor in the U.K., where Emms is from. She also joked that one wedding dress wouldn’t be enough, saying she envisioned wearing several vintage designer gowns.
More than anything, Thorne says their engagement has only strengthened their bond.
“Every day we draw closer,” she said. “It’s really like, ‘Oh wow, you’re my partner.’ Let’s do this together.”
For now, wedding bells can wait — Thorne and Emms are focused on building their life and careers together, one project at a time.
