Apple Cancels The Last Frontier After One Season

Apple has canceled The Last Frontier after just one season.

The drama series starred Jason Clarke as Frank Remnick, the only U.S. marshal responsible for a quiet and rugged region of Alaska. His world is thrown into chaos when a prison transport plane crashes in the remote wilderness, releasing dozens of dangerous inmates. As Remnick works to protect the town he has sworn to keep safe, he begins to believe the crash was not an accident, but part of a larger and carefully planned scheme with serious consequences.

The show also featured Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Simone Kessell, Dallas Goldtooth, and Alfre Woodard. John Slattery and Johnny Knoxville appeared in recurring roles.

The 10-episode series was created by Jon Bokenkamp and Richard D’Ovidio. Both served as executive producers along with Jason Clarke, Laura Benson, Albert Kim, Glenn Kessler, and director Sam Hargrave. The series was produced by Apple Studios.

The Last Frontier premiered on October 10 and aired its final episode on December 5. Apple has not shared a reason for the cancellation.
