Kelly Osbourne Says She Won’t Tolerate Being ‘Dehumanized’ Online

Seven months after the death of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, his daughter Kelly Osbourne is facing renewed public scrutiny — this time over her weight.

Sources close to Kelly say her recent weight loss is largely tied to grief following her father’s passing in July 2025. While some friends have expressed concern about her noticeably slimmer appearance, they understand she is mourning and say she is being given space and support.

According to those familiar with the situation, Kelly is aware of how she looks but has struggled to focus on her health while coping with the emotional toll of losing her father. Maintaining regular eating habits has reportedly been difficult during this period.

Ozzy Osbourne died at age 76 after years of health complications, including Parkinson’s disease and spinal surgeries. His death marked a profound loss for the Osbourne family.

BRIT Awards Appearance Sparks Backlash

Kelly recently appeared alongside her mother, Sharon Osbourne, at the BRIT Awards, where Ozzy was honored posthumously with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The moment was intended as a tribute to the late musician, but online commentary quickly shifted focus to Kelly’s appearance.

After the event, Kelly addressed critics on Instagram, condemning what she described as cruelty from people who felt entitled to comment on her body while she is grieving. She said she should not have to defend her appearance to strangers and made it clear she would not tolerate being dehumanized.

In recent weeks, speculation about her weight loss has included rumors about the use of weight-loss drugs. Kelly has not directly addressed specific allegations but has strongly rejected what she views as bullying.

Sharon Osbourne also defended her daughter during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, saying Kelly “can’t eat right now” because of her grief. “She’s lost her daddy,” Sharon said. “People are so unhappy they have to hide behind a shield and be cruel.”

A Long History of Body Scrutiny

Kelly Osbourne has spoken openly in the past about the long-term impact of body shaming. During the early 2000s reality series The Osbournes, she was frequently mocked by tabloids for her weight. She later revealed that a film executive once told her she was “too fat for TV.”

In 2018, Kelly underwent gastric sleeve surgery and said the procedure helped her lose 85 pounds. She has credited the surgery as a positive step in her life. In 2024, she publicly defended the use of weight-loss medications such as Ozempic, though she has denied using them during her current period of grief.

Kelly has also spoken about the psychological damage caused by years of public criticism. She previously admitted she struggled with body image and said she stopped focusing on numbers related to weight because of the negative impact on her mental health.

Her current appearance has prompted concern from some fans and observers. However, those close to her emphasize that she is navigating a deeply personal loss and should be viewed as a grieving daughter rather than a subject for public diagnosis.

As the Osbourne family continues to mourn, Kelly has made it clear that she expects compassion — not commentary — during one of the most difficult periods of her life.
