‘Tell Me Lies’ Ending With Season 3, Showrunner Confirms Series Finale

Tell Me Lies is officially coming to an end after three seasons.

Hours before what was expected to be the season 3 finale, showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer revealed that the episode will actually serve as the series finale of the hit Hulu drama.

In a message shared on Instagram, Oppenheimer confirmed the news and explained that the ending was always part of the original plan.

“After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale,” she wrote. “This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it.”

She added that while the team explored ways to continue the story after strong fan support, they ultimately felt the show had reached its natural conclusion. Oppenheimer said her main goal was to protect the quality of the series and deliver a complete story with an intentional ending.

A Three-Season Plan From the Start

The news may not surprise longtime fans. Oppenheimer previously spoke about having a three-season arc planned for the complicated love story between Stephen and Lucy.

The show follows the toxic, on-again, off-again relationship between:

• Stephen, played by Jackson White

• Lucy, played by Grace Van Patten

Over three seasons, viewers watched as lies, betrayal, and manipulation tore through their friend group.

Where Things Stand Before the Finale

Heading into the final episode, there is no shortage of drama:

• Bree (Catherine Missal) and Wrigley (Spencer House) decided to be together — only for Wrigley to sleep with Pippa (Sonia Mena), who is in love with Diana (Alicia Crowder).

• Lucy received her taped confession back from Stephen in an unusually kind — and unsettling — gesture.

• Bree discovered that Lucy was the person Evan (Branden Cook) cheated on her with.
