Taylor Swift Distances Herself From Blake Lively’s Legal Battle: “This Doesn’t Involve Me”

Taylor Swift may be in the middle of planning a wedding with fiancé Travis Kelce, but behind the scenes, her name has unexpectedly been pulled into one of Hollywood’s messiest legal dramas — and she’s not thrilled about it.

According to sources, Taylor Swift, 36, is focused on enjoying life with Kelce, her friends, and her family — and is staying emotionally checked out of Blake Lively’s ongoing lawsuit drama. The singer reportedly feels the legal battle “doesn’t involve her,” even though private text messages between her and Lively have now become public.

And those texts? They’re explosive.

How Taylor Got Pulled Into the Lawsuit

The messages surfaced as part of Lively’s sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni. Baldoni has denied the allegations and fired back with claims that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, pressured him out of creative control — a countersuit that has since been dismissed.

Still, the text exchanges reveal just how involved Swift appeared to be during the film’s development.

In April 2023, Lively admitted she sent Swift a revised version of the script while Baldoni was literally at her house for a pre-production meeting. She even asked Swift for help convincing her “doofus director” to accept her changes.

Swift didn’t hesitate.

“I’ll do anything for you!!” she replied — and later praised the script in front of Baldoni.

Afterward, Lively couldn’t stop gushing, calling Swift “epically heroic” and bragging that Baldoni “fell for all of it.” Swift, clearly thrilled by the friendship at the time, responded with over-the-top enthusiasm, calling Lively “the COOLEST PERSON IN THE WORLD.”

Cracks in the Friendship

Fast-forward to 2024, and the tone had changed.

When Lively sent Swift a trailer for the movie — which featured one of Swift’s songs — the singer made a pointed observation: if Baldoni were being strategic, he wouldn’t include Taylor Swift at all, because it gave Lively more power over the film.

By December, with rumors of an on-set feud already dominating headlines, Lively reached out again, nervously “checking in” on their friendship and apologizing for being emotionally consumed by the drama.

Swift’s response was honest — and revealing.

She admitted there had been “a little bit of a shift” in how Lively had been talking to her, saying the messages lately felt less personal and more like “a mass corporate email sent to 200 employees.” At its core, Swift said she simply missed her friend.

Taylor Takes a Side — Briefly

As the lawsuit loomed, Swift’s texts showed clear frustration with Baldoni, criticizing his public interviews and calling his behavior “disgusting.” When Lively’s complaint finally made headlines, Swift congratulated her, saying she had helped bring truth to light and protect others from going through similar situations.

But despite those supportive words, Swift’s camp has made one thing very clear: she is not involved in the case or the film itself.

Moving On to Wedding Bells

Now, with Lively’s case set to go to trial in May, Baldoni’s legal team is arguing that the texts prove Lively used Swift’s influence to shape both production decisions and public perception.

Swift, however, appears done with the drama.

According to reports, she’s focused on her future — including a highly anticipated summer wedding to Kelce — and keeping her distance from a legal fight she never wanted to be part of in the first place.

For Taylor Swift, it seems the era of courtroom chaos is over — and the era of love, football games, and wedding planning is just getting started. 💍🏈
